TOWCHED | Transforming Our World: Collections at the Heart of life-long learning and Education.

Arts and heritage in education foster cultural awareness and promote cultural practices and is the means by which knowledge and appreciation of the arts and culture are transmitted from one generation to the next. Towched demonstrates that cultural-based organisations can play a vital role in integrating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into arts-based and heritage-based education initiatives.

Project Overview

Towched demonstrates that cultural-based organisations can play a vital role in integrating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into arts-based and heritage-based education initiatives. By raising awareness and promoting understanding of global challenges, the project empowers people—especially children and youth—to actively participate in sustainable development. Towched adopts a lifelong learning perspective, spanning early childhood education and care (ages 5-7) to young adult education (ages 15-24) across formal and non-formal learning environments. The Human Rights-based Approach (HRBA) is applied as a project planning tool, meaning that inclusive participation is fostered and ensures access and decision-making for everyone involved.

UNDERPIN | Addressing critical climate adaptation gaps across Europe.

Europe is warming at twice the global average, leading to uneven and inequitable climate impacts across regions, sectors, and social groups. Just and transformative climate adaptation, practical implementation and robust monitoring frameworks are needed. UNDERPIN addresses these challenges through innovative, outcome-oriented indicators that measure the effectiveness of adaptation strategies and foster harmonised climate resilience monitoring across Europe.
