Policies and research agendas in the EU too often overlook the expertise of Majority World (Global South) actors, leading to misaligned priorities and ineffective interventions.

Project Overview
The Global Research Priority Tracker gives voice to experts from the Global South—across Africa, Asia, and Latin America—by mapping 230 research priorities through an inclusive, eight-month horizon-scanning process conducted in 2022. The result is an accessible, searchable database designed to inform and align EU research strategies with the needs and insights of those most impacted by global challenges.
Our Role
IIED Europe spearheaded the project, leading stakeholder engagement, coordinating the horizon-scanning process, and developing the Tracker to ensure the research priorities identified are actionable and can meaningfully influence EU research planning.
Duration: The research process and development of the Tracker were conducted over eight months in 2022.
