UNDERPIN | Addressing critical climate adaptation gaps across Europe.

Europe is warming at twice the global average, leading to uneven and inequitable climate impacts across regions, sectors, and social groups. Just and transformative climate adaptation, practical implementation and robust monitoring frameworks are needed. UNDERPIN addresses these challenges through innovative, outcome-oriented indicators that measure the effectiveness of adaptation strategies and foster harmonised climate resilience monitoring across Europe.

Pathways2Resilience | Supporting the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change.

The climate crisis is already having major effects on everyday life in Europe. We need to pay more attention to the current and future impacts of climate change. Adaptation efforts so far have not yielded enough outcomes while needs have increased significantly, widening thus need for adaptation actions. Regions and communities have a major role to play in enabling rapid and far-reaching change. Pathway2Resilience (P2R) aims to empower 100 regions across Europe to design transformative pathways toward climate resilience. By distributing €21 million in funding, building tools, and offering targeted support, the project enhances the capacities of these regions to tackle climate challenges effectively.

TOWCHED | Transforming Our World: Collections at the Heart of life-long learning and Education.

Arts and heritage in education foster cultural awareness and promote cultural practices and is the means by which knowledge and appreciation of the arts and culture are transmitted from one generation to the next. Towched demonstrates that cultural-based organisations can play a vital role in integrating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into arts-based and heritage-based education initiatives.

ADB | Developing and piloting approaches to track adaptation investments in Bangladesh, Pakistan, and the Philippines.

Climate change is already impacting communities and economies across developing member countries (DMCs) such as Bangladesh, Pakistan, and the Philippines. The knowledge and support technical assistance (TA) for this project aims to strengthen the capacity of public and private sector actors in developing member countries (DMCs) — including Bangladesh, Pakistan, and the Philippines — to use adaptation metrics in planning for climate resilience and connecting these plans to public and private finance.

Green Economy Coalition | Strengthening societal demands for green and circular economies.

Our current economic systems are tightly geared around narrow visions of economic growth and ignore important societal returns from ecosystem health, human well-being, and fairer income distribution. Investing in strengthen civil society voices is vital in countries of the global south towards a fair, green economy for all. In partnership with the Green Economy Coalition (GEC) & the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), this project seeks to accelerate the transition to an inclusive, green, and circular economy by fostering collaboration, partnerships, and momentum.

Global Research Priority Tracker | Aligning EU Policy with Majority World Priorities

Policies and research agendas in the EU too often overlook the expertise of Majority World (Global South) actors, leading to misaligned priorities and ineffective interventions. The Global Research Priority Tracker gives voice to experts from the Global South—across Africa, Asia, and Latin America—by mapping 230 research priorities through an inclusive, eight-month horizon-scanning process conducted in 2022.
